Tendercare Environmental Policy
Tendercare Ltd environmental policy sets out the principle and standards for the company. All staff are required
to comply with the policy. The main focus is on reducing consumption and improving efficiency in our Energy and
Waste Management processes.
The aim is to work towards continuous improvement in environmental management and performance
by employees and to encourage support from suppliers and customers.
Principles
- The management sets out the responsibility for environmental performance and assesses the business regularly
for compliance with this policy. When making major business decisions the management takes environmental considerations into account.
- All actions must comply with relevant regulations.
- Business is conducted with due regard to the environment.
- Employees are encouraged and expected to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Tendercare's suppliers are expected to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This is reinforced by the conditions of supply.
In Particular
- WASTE: we will minimise the creation of waste, and will recycle materials where this is cost effective and to the environmental benefit.
We will ensure transportation and disposal of our waste complies with current safe practice.
- SENSIBLE USE OF ENERGY: we will seek to use energy efficiently and minimise the waste of energy. This will be done through using
energy efficient manufacturing storage and distribution methods. We will use environmentally safe and, where practicable,
sustainable energy sources, and will invest in the benefits of energy efficiency.
- RESOURCES: reduce the use of raw materials through efficient product design and good working practices.
- OPPORTUNITIES FOR RE-USE AND RECYLCING OF PRODUCTS: all our products are considered suitable for refurbishment and therefore can be re-issued.
- DELIVERY AND PURCHASE OF MATERAILS AND SERVICES: we will minimise adverse environmental impacts of the products that we deliver by using
the best available technology not entailing excessive cost. We will consider environmental matters when purchasing from suppliers and reduce
the environmental impact of our purchases through our purchasing policy.
- TRAINING: we will ensure that all staff are aware of their environmental responsibilities relating to the Environmental Policy,
and that the appropriate training is given to them to enable them to implement this responsibility. We will encourage members of staff
to report any matter that they think is a danger to the environment.
- MONITORING: we will monitor the implementation of our Environmental Policy. We will create and maintain management systems
to ensure that the staff are kept informed of and are fully committed reducing any adverse impact on the environment
