As part of the client assessment process, consideration needs to be given to the likely usage of the seat insert in transportation. When carrying out the assessment, prescribers should determine the intended use of the device and where the seat is likely to be used in transportation, they should ensure that the shaping of the insert allows the occupant restraint to sit in the correct position – across the occupant’s lap and diagonally across the occupants chest, ensuring good contact with the occupant.
