Recaro Monza Reha
The Recaro Monza Reha Car Seat is designed to provide postural support for children with special seating needs, whilst maintaining the high safety standards of ordinary car seats. It is designed for children aged 3-12 years old (15-50kg). The seat comes as standard with removable lateral trunk supports, side supports and head supports, to enable adaptation of the seat to suit the needs of the individual child. The optional turn table plate allows for effortless entrance and exit to vehicles. The back of the seat is fitted with an integrated height-adjustable back/headrest, allowing the seat to cater to the growing child’s dimensions. The headrest has an internal air cushion enabling extensive angle adjustment to meet with a varied range of disability requirements. The backrest can also be reclined to provide increased comfort to the child whilst maintaining a high level of safety. Should your child need to be sat at an angle, seat wedges are available. These can either be placed underneath the seat to change the angle of the complete car seat, or fitted on top of the seat cushion to provide a variety of seating angles. An integrated speaker system is contained in the headrest, with a cable to connect to your personal mp3 player, which can then be stored in the pocket on the side of the seat cushion. The volume of the speakers is set to a low level, to encourage the child to keep their head in the correct position. This also minimizes the risk of hearing damage from loud music. The child is securely strapped into the seat with a fully adjustable 5-point harness. A tummy pad is provided to enhance the comfort of the child. The seat can be fitted to the car using one of two methods. As with ordinary car seats, this special seating car seat can be fitted simply by using the car’s own 3-point belt system. Impact shields are built into the seat to aid in the comfort and safety of the child if it is fitted using this system. The seat can also be fitted using a Seatfix attachment, which uses International Standards Organisation Fix (ISOFIX) arms, in addition to the 3-point belt. Most cars are now fitted with ISOFIX points when they are manufactured. The ISOFIX arms on the Seatfix attachment slide into the ISOFIX points in the car, providing a solid link between the car seat and the car. This makes the correct installation of the seat easy, as well as making the system safer and more secure, and providing an increased level of protection in the event of a side impact. When the Seatfix attachment is used it is imperative that the 3-point belt system is also used, to ensure the safety of your child. When securing your special needs car seat into your vehicle it is most important that you familiarise yourself with the correct fixing instructions, appropriate to your vehicle, before use. It is recommended that the instructions for use be kept with the seat to ensure that the correct fitting procedure is adhered to at all times. A swivel turn table is now available to help with getting your child in and out of the car. It allows the car seat to be turned to face the door so that you can lift your child straight into the seat and then swivel to face the front. It can turn both ways so the car seat can still be used on either side of the car. The turn table cannot be used in conjunction with the ISOFIX option. The Car seat comprises a mixture of materials, including polystyrene, polyurethane, and polypropylene. This makes it sturdy and durable as well as providing extra shock absorption in case of impact. Fixed side wings help provide impact protection to the hips. The seat cover is made of a tough but soft suede feel material, which is fire retardant according to British standards. The seat cover is removable and machine washable. The car seat has been successfully tested according to ECE 44/04, Approval No. 04301220.
